Supertunia® Pretty Much Picasso®

My favorite petunia this year is the Pretty Much Picasso, a petunia hybrid that is the first of its kind with violet-purple blooms edged in a lime-green accent. This  beautifully trailing Petunia is great for mixing in combination with other like-growning plants and is now thriving in a mixed plant container on my patio. The Petunia is drought-tolerant and self-deadheading which makes it easy to grow in a container. I accented it with the chartreuse sweet potato plant and Diamond Frost to make it pop. I really like the combination of the violet purple and lime green green flower as it spills over in my container.

"How to Success in Business Wthout Really Trying"

"How to Success in Business Wthout Really Trying" was a fun musical comedy with a heart as big as Manhattan.

Enjoyed seeing Nick Jonas, music sensation and Broadway alum, (Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun) as the star.  What a delight watching his riotous rise up the corporate ladder as he struggled to juggle the promotion, the corner office and the girl. Loved the set reminiscent of "Laugh In" from the 60's and the costumes and  hair styles.

Joining him were Emmy Award® winner Beau Bridges, (Brothers and Sisters, The Fabulous Baker Boys), Micheal Urie (Ugly Betty), Tammy Blanchard  (Life with Judy Garland) and Rose Hemingway high-stepping musical! This show was so much fun!

"How to Success in Business Wthout Really Trying" … played its final Broadway performance on Sunday, May 20, 2012. So Glad I got to see this production before it closed.

"Evita" - Revival 2012

Enjoyed seeing the Broadway revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Evita" at the Marquis Theatre. This is the first new Broadway production of the seven-time Tony Award-winning musical since it debuted at the Broadway Theatre over 30 years ago.

Ricky Martin stars as Che, Elena Roger plays Evita, and Michael Cerveris is Peron.

.

The Marquis Theatre, opened in 1986, is one of the newest theatres to be built on Broadway. Located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Ricky Martin as Che
“He sings beautifully, dances gracefully, athletically climbs ladders, plays his role with a knowing sneer and elicits drools in his suspenders and tight white shirt. He even makes a mustache work.” according to one reviewer.

"Once" - a new musical!

,

Loved “Once”– a delightful, different, delivery of song and dance in a new musical on Broadway.  “Once” is a funny, romantic and heart-breaking story of an Irish musician and his muse, a Czech immigrant, drawn together by their shared love of music

Highlights for me were the musicians dancing with their instruments, actors changing the set in rhythm, the song “Falling Slowly” and going on stage before the curtain for a drink and being part of the pub while the actors, who are also the show’s musicians, playing Irish standards.

Once leads this year with 11 Tony Nominations including Best Musical, Best Director (John Tiffany), Best Lead Actor (Steve Kazee), Best Lead Actress (Cristin Milioti), Best Featured Actress (Elizabeth A. Davis), Best Book (Enda Walsh), Best Choreography (Steven Hoggett) and Best Orchestrations (Martin Lowe) as well as nominations for the show’s design elements.

SOS 18th Spring Safari Parade 2012

This was my first time participating in the ACSC/SOS Spring Safari Parade at Ocean Drive in Myrtle Beach!  The theme for the Winston-Salem Shag Club float was a "Tribute to the USO"!  Five of us "girls" danced in front of the float to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby".  I had so much fun participating and was honored to be a nurse and wear my Mother's nurse’s cap! We placed 2nd in Most Original Theme
